About Me

Houston native Benjamin Dougharty possesses an open, outgoing, and inviting personality that puts clients and his fellow Realtors at ease and inspires confidence. Benjamin's focus is always his customers – finding out what they want and delivering it.

Benjamin works with many singles, first-time buyers, couples, families as well as empty nesters. He assists clients in all price ranges and neighborhoods. "I really love homes, design and architecture," he says. "I help my sellers put their best foot forward to attract qualified buyers, and guide my buyers to transform a prospective purchase into their home."

Before joining John Daugherty, Realtors, Benjamin honed his sales skills for 13 years in Los Angeles as a movie marketer for DreamWorks Animation and Sony Pictures. He returned home to Houston to focus on his on-going passion, residential real estate, where those marketing skills prove invaluable.

Prior to studying business and communication at St. Edward's University in Austin, Benjamin attended St. Thomas High School and Elkins High School. "I gravitated toward less conventional, out-of-the-classroom learning. My favorite aspect of school was always the people. I loved being on student committees, fundraising for charities, or anything where I could be involved in a project."

When not working, Benjamin serves on the Houston Heritage Society's See Interesting Places (SIP) Committee which strives to open to the public some of Houston's most interesting and rarely seen places. He also volunteers with K-9 Angels Rescue where he rescued his Black Labrador, Sonny.

A resident of Midtown, Benjamin loves spending time with his family. He enjoys exploring all the outdoor activities Houston has to offer; from Memorial Park and Buffalo Bayou to the expansive biking trails and various dog parks, to working out at Equinox River Oaks.
